In the 1950s, the B16 was the standard engine block for classic Volvo such as the Amazon and the Katterug. Many parts are still available for the B16. These include various camshaft bearings, crankshaft bearings and gaskets. The parts for later B18 and B20 are now being manufactured in large numbers. Nordicar supplies parts for these engines from stock to customers in the Netherlands, but also far beyond. Parts are frequently being sent to Belgium and France, but classic Volvos with a B18 or B20 engine are also driving in Japan and South Africa. Below is an overview of Volvo models with the corresponding engines:

Overhaul Volvo B18 and Volvo B20 engines
Nordicar has been overhauling the B18 and B20 engines since 1995. Before that, the engine blocks for the Volvo Amazon, P1800 and PV544 were overhauled by Volvo itself. Overhaul starts with the disassembly of old worn engine blocks, often with high mileage. The B18 and B20 engine blocks are professionally disassembled, this is because a number of parts are reused. Think of the crankshaft and connecting rods. After all parts have been disassembled and cleaned, the crankcase or engine block is drilled and honed. The bore is matched to the available pistons. Mahles pistons have a good fit and are best used for overhaul. The crankshaft is ground and replaced with the correct crankshaft bearings. All bearings, camshaft, oil pump and distribution are renewed. On our site you will find all the parts to overhaul your engine block B18 or engine block B20 and also the B30. If you have any questions about the availability of parts or technical questions about the overhaul, please feel free to contact us.
Volvo B230 B200 engine Volvo 240 and Volvo 940
The predecessor of the Volvo B200 and B230 series engines that were installed in the Volvo 240, Volvo 740 and Volvo 940 until 1998, are the new generation of B19, B21 and B23 engines that were supplied in the Volvo 240 from 1975 onwards. Parts for the rock-solid B230 petrol engines, with an overhead camshaft, are also available in our web shop. The most popular engine from the Volvo 945 is the B230FK engine with a low pressure turbo. This engine produces almost 200 hp, making the 945 estate one of the fastest station wagons of the last century.
