Volvo once gave a tightening torque for the camshaft nut of 13 to 15 kpm (130 to 150Nm). Maintaining this torque poses a high risk of breaking the camshaft during installation. A maximum torque of 8 kpm (80Nm) must not be exceeded. For added safety, Loctite should be used to secure the camshaft nut.
